Evaluation on Feedback of Previous Project

I was graded a C3 for my previous digital image production project. I wasn't really happy with my grade as I know I could have done better. During my feedback session with Chris, he gave me my feedback, explained it and also gave me tips on what to do and not do for any future projects. I really appreciated this as for the future I will know what would work and what wouldn't.

The feedback I got was that I had good research and showed correct technical skills however my final shots didn't represent this. At first I did't get why the final shots were not up to scratch but as Chris explained further and compared my final shots to my practice images, I could see the point he was making.

The lighting in the final coloured shots was not right and due to this it made all the pictures look dull. He also said that I could have used post production to twerk the images around. To be honest I did not know how much photoshop we could use for the images as I did not want the images looking too artificial. However, After speaking to Chris he showed and explained to me how we can make the image better exposed to get a flattering effect on the skin of the model.

I was told that the black and white pictures were better exposed and had nice glowing skin than the coloured images. This is all to do with lighting and the exposure of the images. I was also told that choosing the right models and poses is a key thing and is something I should definitely think about for future projects. The moodboard that i had for my final shoot had to be more focused, I think this is because I had some small sized images which when stretched became out of focus.

I'm not that good with photography but I did learn a lot the previous semester. I was really happy with the feedback I got from Chris as I have definitely seen what I've dine wrong and I have learnt from my mistakes. This will prevent me making the same mistakes for any future projects. For this project I will definitely play around with lighting to see which particular one gives my model a flattering look with glowing skin. I will also wok more on my post production skills but keeping in mind where the limit is. I will work on my time management more and also have much more independent research.
